Derek Bruff Welcomes New Assistant Director to the CFT
I’m very happy to introduce the CFT’s newest assistant director, Nancy Chick, to the Vanderbilt community. Nancy comes to us from the University of Wisconsin-Barron County, where she was a professor of English and taught face-to-face and online courses in English and women’s studies. Prior to her arrival at the CFT, Nancy was also co-director of the University of Wisconsin System’s Wisconsin Teaching Fellows and Scholars Program and director of the University of Wisconsin College’s Virtual Teaching and Learning Center. In those capacities, she’s worked with a wide variety of faculty in their roles as teachers and teacher-scholars.
Nancy is also co-editor of two books on teaching, Exploring Signature Pedagogies and Exploring More Signature Pedagogies, the latter just published last month. She’s also the founding co-editor of the forthcoming journal of the International Society for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (ISSOTL). See below for information on how Nancy will be sharing her expertise in the scholarship of teaching and learning with the Vanderbilt community this semester.
Nancy will serve as the CFT’s liaison to most humanities departments in the College of Arts & Science, as well as to the Blair School of Music, the Divinity School, and various centers and units across campus. She’s supervising our Graduate Teaching Fellows (GTFs) this spring, and overseeing our recruitment efforts for next year’s GTFs and Teaching Affiliates.
Please give Nancy a warm welcome to Vanderbilt when you meet her!
