October is DigitalVU Month
The CFT is participating in Vanderbilt’s DigitalVU month in October. From the press release:
Now in its third year, DigitalVU Month features 28 presentations and information sessions from experts across campus as well as external vendors on all things related to how we use technology to collaborate, communicate and create.
CFT events included our recent workshops on digital storytelling, leveraging student laptops in the classroom, and backchannel tools as well as these upcoming workshops:
- “Tell Your Story Now… Digitally!“, October 21, 12:00 – 1:30 pm, a hands-on workshop led by CFT educational technologist Rhett McDaniel
- “Crafting a Professional Digital Identity: Faculty and Social Media,” October 25, 4:10 – 5:30 pm, featuring Melanie Moran and Lacy Tite from the Web Communications division of Vanderbilt Public Affairs
Sessions offered as part of DigitalVU Month by other units on campus of potential interest to the Vanderbilt teaching community include the following:
- “Web 2.0 Topics: Google Earth & Google Maps,” October 18, 5:00 – 6:30 pm
- “New Ways to Collaborate: Live Meeting and Office Communicator,” October 20, 2:00 – 3:00 pm
- “Introduction to Prezi,” October 22, 1:00 – 2:30 pm
- “Vendor Session: Google Apps,” October 25, 1:00 – 2:00 pm
- “OAK, Powered by Blackboard,” October 25, 2:00 – 3:00 pm
