Fostering Student Engagement- NSSE Annual Results 2011
Last spring, about 2.1 million students at more than 750 colleges and universities were invited to report on their in- and out-of-class learning experiences by completing the NSSE survey. The near-record number of participating institutions signifies continued interest in student engagement as a useful and informative way for institutional leaders, faculty, and others to gain insight into the quality of undergraduate education. NSSE has just released the survey results for 2011. See the survey results.
Results from the survey help to gain insight on areas such as:
- Learning Strategies
- Reading Comprehension
- Diversity and Global Awareness
- Student-Faculty Interaction
“At a time when U.S. standards for higher education are being evaluated in a competitive global context, NSSE data provide real insights into the qualities of the campus learning environment.”
—Molly Corbett Broad, President, American Council on Education
