Multi-disciplinary Panel Discussion on Diversity in STEM
On June 8, 2016 at 2:30 pm CT, there will be an all-star group of Black scholars assembled for a candid conversation on the challenges and the potential solutions to address diversity in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Directly after the panel discussion, there will be a reception in the lobby of the Wyatt Center, where these scholars will be signing books and sharing more personal conversations with the audience. These talented scholars represent universities from across the country, and they have been asked to consider viewpoints spanning the entire educational pipeline, with a particular focus on higher education and STEM.
The discussion will include: (1) broadening participation to increase engagement and diversity in STEM and (2) the role of institutions to create a climate that sustains achievement and success of women and traditionally underrepresented groups in STEM. See the announcement flyer for additional details.
This event will also be streamed live at blackengineeringphd.org.
