Missed the Workshop? Watch “Tools for Putting Your Teaching Online”
As Vanderbilt prepares to move its classes to online and other alternative forms of instruction for the remainder of the semester, the Center for Teaching is offering a number of workshops to support faculty and other instructors as they make this transition. We are partnering with the Office of Faculty Affairs and Vanderbilt University Information Technology (VUIT) to host these workshops both in person and online via Zoom. You can find information about upcoming workshops on the Faculty Affairs workshops and training page.
For those who missed the workshops, or won’t be able to attend an upcoming training sessions in time, we have recorded one of the March 11 workshops called “Tools for Putting Your Teaching Online,” and made it available here on the CFT website, on the Brightspace support website, and on the CFT YouTube channel. The workshop features discussion of tools for creating simple video lectures to share with students (using Kaltura Capture) and for hosting and recording live virtual class sessions and office hours (using Virtual Classroom or Zoom).
Please note that the “quick start” handouts mentioned in the workshop are available here:
Faculty with questions about technologies and techniques for alternative instruction are encouraged to check out the Center for Teaching’s on-demand Brightspace resources, which include text and video tool guides, or reach out for support by phone or email.
