Registration Open for Spring Events

Posted by on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 in Events, News.

The CFT kicks off the Spring 2011 term with an exciting Spring Event lineup that includes Teaching Workshops and Conversations on Teaching on a variety of interesting topics. These include events on Interactive Lecturing, Plagiarism, Service Learning, and Teaching Outside the Classroom. In addition to these topics, two events facilitated by the CFT will be conversations around Managing Student Expectations. These events invite students, faculty, and staff to have an exploratory conversation regarding issues and challenges involved with expectations in the classroom.

What are people saying about CFT events?

Attending a CFT workshop was most valuable because… “[I heard] about the strategies and steps other professors had taken to improve their teaching. It was also helpful just to devote an hour and a half to discussing teaching with my colleagues.”

The Conversation on Teaching was… “on a good topic, and [led to a] practical discussion. We did not waste time with a lengthy abstract introduction, we launched pretty quickly into a concrete discussion of a current problem in undergraduate teaching.”
