Using Clickers: A hands-on workshop

Date & Time: Monday, October 22 4:10-5:30pm

Clickers, also known as classroom response systems, allow students to provide instructors with instant feedback and quick responses to questions. Clickers support instructional goals through a variety of uses including real-time assessment of understanding, paired or group answering, quizzes and self-tests, and anonymous polling.  This hands-on workshop will cover everything you need to know to build and present interactive clicker questions using PowerPoint, including time for everyone to experiment using the clicker hardware and software.

Facilitator: Rhett McDaniel, CFT Educational Technologist and Katie Taylor, Graduate Teaching Fellow
Date & Time: Monday, October 22 4:10-5:30pm
This workshop will be held in Stevenson Center, room 2200.

These workshops focus on practical, concrete strategies for common teaching tasks, challenges, and opportunities.  These sessions draw on research-based best practices from the literature on teaching and learning and help participants consider ways to apply those best practices in their teaching. Teaching Workshops are typically a mix of presentation, large group discussion, small group activities, and times for individual reflection.
